ABOUT LORENZO PAZZI

My academic journey started with a Bachelor\'s degree in from the University of Padua, Italy, where I gained a strong foundation in biology, focusing on the genetic, molecular, cellular, and functional aspects that regulate the organisation of living organisms. I then pursued a Master\'s degree in \'\' at Leiden University in the Netherlands. The two-year program includes advanced biology classes and workshops in the first year, followed by an in-depth exploration of various forms of science communication in the second year. As part of my Master’s, I completed two 6-month internships. The first was in, where I contributed to identifying and isolating a new antibiotic molecule in at the Institute of Biology in Leiden. The second one in, at Museon-Omniversum in The Hague, where I redesigned sections of an exhibition on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, creating a 3-minute animated video about the human microbiome. I’m currently working at the (), the science and knowledge service of the European Commission. I’m involved in three projects: the CDP Programme, JRC Science Insight, and SciArt, where I design websites, create scientific graphics and videos, and contribute to the overall communication strategy. ‍ In parallel, I’m specialising in the visual aspect of science communication, particularly 2D motion graphics and video editing. I’m honing my graphic design skills to start as a freelance, focusing on human physiology and neuroscience. I’m always open to new projects and collaborations!
