The research activity concerns the methodologies of analysis and optimization of technologies and techniques for low-consumption buildings and is divided into the following areas- Design and implementation of̀ high detail monitoring activities of energy performance, thermal comfort and air qualitỳ in full-scale experimental set ups and test cells- Development and validation of models of building components and systems (glazing with shading, soil-air exchangers)- Completion and rationalization of some long-term comfort indicators and development of improvements to enable their use in automated optimization methodologies- Development and application of multiobjective evaluation and optimization methodologies to support the design of NZEB buildings: thermal comfort, light, cost-optimality- Techno-economic analysis of energy saving potential in thermal and electrical end-uses, energy balances at urban scale, supporting the development of national and European legislation, e.g EU Directive on Energy End-use Efficiency, EU Cost-Optimal Regulation.Activities are carried out in collaboration with universities and research centers at the National and European level and through more than 40 projects funded by various European Union programs (SAVE, Energy Intelligent Europe; H2020, FP7),The zero energy building in Mascalucia with remote monitoring and control carried out by eERG is part of the IEA EBC Annex 58 \"Inventory of full scale test facilites.\"The dataset of thermal comfort measurements and surveys produced by the group constitutes the Italian contribution to the ASHRAE Comfort Database II, published in article in Energy and Environment that received journal award as best article 2018.
