ABOUT LOREN SANDERS
If learning hasn’t delivered the return you wanted, the problem is usually with the design.I work with organizations that are done investing in development that sounds good, feels productive, and fails to change behavior. I partner with executives who want leaders that show up in decisions, accountability, and performance, as well as language, engagement scores, and slide decks. My work focuses on what drives leadership behavior: decision rights, incentives, feedback loops, and the conditions people operate inside. When those are misaligned, no amount of coaching, values statements, or training will produce consistent performance. When they’re right, performance improves quickly and sustainably.I work with executives as a fractional learning and talent leader to identify where performance breaks down and why. That includes diagnosing unclear expectations, promoting technical expertise into leadership without support, rewarding over functioning, and mistaking output for outcomes. From there, I help design learning and performance systems that change how leaders think, decide, and act when the stakes are high.I’m an ICF-certified coach (PCC) and a graduate-level faculty member in Organizational Communications and Strategic Talent Management, where I work with non-HR leaders to understand how people systems either reinforce strategy or undermine it. Across both corporate and academic work, my approach is practical, evidence-informed, and grounded in how organizations behave.I’m the VP of Learning Strategy and Consulting at WeLearn and the co-founder of Roxlo Coaching, the author of Empathy Is Not a Weakness and Other Stories from the Edge. Despite the title, my work is not about being nice. It challenges the idea that empathy is a personality trait and reframes it as a leadership capability tied directly to judgment, trust, and performance. I am currently working on book two, about Impostor Syndrome. If you’re skeptical of leadership development, I can help you:•Stop funding initiatives that don’t change decisions or behavior•Stop confusing culture language with operational reality•Stop promoting leaders without setting them up for success•Build leadership capability that holds under pressure beyond the workshopIf you’re looking for a coach, speaker, learning leader or talent leader who understands how systems drive success, let’s talk.
