Training and Resource Development Manager @United National Indian Tribal Youth
Established in 1976, UNITY, Inc—United National Indian Tribal Youth, Inc—is a national organization promoting personal development, citizenship, and leadership among tribal youth. UNITY is composed of 320+ affiliated youth councils in 36 states, sponsored by tribes, Alaska Native villages, high schools, colleges, and urban Native centers.LorenAshley currently manages the UNITY Healing Indigenous Lives Initiative. This Initiative is supported by a cooperative agreement (2018-TY-FX-K002) between UNITY, Inc. and the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The initiative will support and enhance Native youth engagement, coordination, and action related to public safety issues, with a focus on juvenile justice and delinquency prevention in Indian country. The HILI youth Cohort known as the Peer Guides, will design and facilitate intensive training in critical aspects of juvenile justice and delinquency prevention efforts for cohorts of youth throughout the country. Previously, LorenAshley managed the the UNITY Wellness Warriors Project. Funded by a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation over a three-year period (20••••19), the new program aims to increase the awareness of the need for and benefits of adopting a lifestyle that incorporates a culturally-relevant and measurable personal wellness plan that will lead to transformational change among Native American and Alaskan Native youth, while positively impacting their communities. http://unityinc.org/
