ABOUT LORA KNOWLTON

With the Golden Chamber of Commerce, I am responsible for planning and coordination of all Chamber community events - including Taste of Golden, Golden Fine Arts Festival, Beer Tasting & Chili Cook-Off, Golden Farmers Market and Olde Golden Christmas. Also includes monthly Chamber member networking and educational events. As owner/manager of Current Events LLC, I provide event management consulting services specializing in association management, event operations and logistics. Current clients and events include the Big Chili Cook-Off Arts & Music Festival, Foothills Park & Recreation District/Red White & You and numerous other fun community events. Former clients and events with tons of fun were Academy of Model Aeronautics/Expo West & Expo East, Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, Colorado Irish Festival and the Bandimere Speedway/MOPAR Big Block Party. I am a founding member of the Columbine Memorial Foundation, Inc. and serves as Chair-elect of the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado. I also am the Contest Director for Warbirds & Classics Over Denver, a nationally known radio-controlled airplane event - which syncs my event management skills with my love of aviation. When not in the \'event mode\', my most passionate side gig is doing genealogy research for family, friends and others. I\'m especially interested in genetic genealogy. Hobbies include flying radio-controlled airplanes, collecting antique glassware and historic aviation memorabilia, and genealogy research.
