WORK HISTORY
Product Development Specialist @The Timken Company
North Canton, OH, US
In this role, I lead new product development activities for power transmission components for aerospace, rail, automotive light and commercial vehicles, wind, and process industries markets.• Led development of new ball bearings for eAxles used in electric vehicle transmissions.• Developed fit/hoop stress guidelines specific to through hardened and case-carburized materials for ultra large bore wind turbine bearings (ULB). Developed lab experiments to assess strength of lifting and mounting holes used in ULB rings.• Developing wear prediction model using combination of FEA and experimental tests for polymer bearing materials.• Technical lead for project on development of high radial and axial capacity cylindrical roller bearings.• Leading R&D product development effort on planetary traction drives. These drives offer smooth power transmission than traditional gears up to higher speeds. Structural analysis of prototype design completed using FEA. Designed experimental scheme for performance and application testing of new product.
