ABOUT LONDA ADAMS

I am a committed, hardworking, dedicated professional with 14+ years experience in the training and safety field.I started my career at RRD part time at entry level in the manufacturing area of the Directory bindery. In four short years I worked my way up to become the first female Assistant Operator in my department. While continuing to hone my skills on the bindery floor, I took on developmental opportunities outside of my comfort zone to ensure I became a highly value added employee.I worked in Pressroom learning the duties of the roll-tender and increasing my knowledge of the 4-color offset Pressroom. I was a member of a 5 person group who was trained on and in less than a year the directory module was certified. I had a developmental opportunity to learn the role of a Customer Service Representative and spent a year in Customer Service increasing my skill level, and building long lasting relationships with fellow employees along with customers.In 2001 I became the Bindery Training Coordinator developing, scheduling and tracking training for all bindery manufacturing employees. Later I was also given the responsibility of our Pressroom training as well. Training includes new hire entry level employees through craft apprenticeship programs.A few years later, safety initiatives were added to my role for both pressroom and bindery. I ensure we continue to meet all corporate safety requirements following OSHA standards, as well as department specific requirements. I help to ensure that safety is at the forefront of all employees. Both directory departments have continued to exceed safety goals year after year.While in my current position, I continue to take developmental opportunities as they arise. Because of those opportunities, I am utilized as Directory Supervisor fill-in for coverage needs and weekends. I have also had a 5-month opportunity to be utilized as Supervisor in our Catalog Pressroom department.
