Intern - Program Development Officer - Transition Juste Programs @Makesense

As part of the Just Transition team at makesense, I contribute to expanding and scaling our programs that connect ecological transition with social inclusion. My role bridges strategic development, partnership building, advocacy, and field coordination to ensure that environmental justice includes the voices and needs of those most affected by the climate crisis.Key responsibilities include:– Identifying funding opportunities: conducting strategic intelligence on calls for projects, participating in relevant events, and building relationships with potential funders and stakeholders;– Drafting project proposals and partnership offers: analyzing opportunities, crafting key narratives, budgeting, and producing tailored presentation materials;– Supporting ongoing partnerships: coordinating steering committees, delivering operational and financial reports, and organizing one-on-one partner meetings;– Strategic marketing and advocacy: writing thought leadership content (articles, newsletters), organizing exclusive events, managing and activating our stakeholder databases, and helping position the Just Transition program in public and institutional debates;– Carrying out targeted advocacy actions: identifying influence opportunities, producing messaging aligned with field insights, and contributing to coalition-building efforts with actors across the ESS and environmental sectors;– Occasional operational support: co-facilitating workshops with young people and partner organizations, and contributing to the program’s agility and responsiveness.I work to ensure that the Just Transition program not only mobilizes on the ground, but also informs broader conversations and policy agendas around climate justice and social equity.
