ABOUT LOKESH SEKAR

I am a recent MSc Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics graduate from Queen\'s University Belfast, where I completed my degree with a 2:1. I am currently looking for graduate roles as a Bioinformatician, Data Analyst, or Research Assistant. I became passionate about the intersection of bioinformatics and cancer research during my dissertation, where I developed integrated pipelines for RNA-Seq and copy number variation analysis in lung squamous cell carcinoma. This hands-on experience, combined with my earlier internship in molecular diagnostics and machine learning work in cancer subtype prediction, deepened my interest in using computational tools to drive discoveries in oncology. With a solid foundation in NGS, statistical programming, and predictive modelling, I’m eager to contribute to projects that make a tangible impact on cancer diagnostics and treatment.
