WORK HISTORY
Postdoctroal Research Fellow @University Health Network
Toronto, ON, CA
In my current role in Dr. Adam Gehring’s lab, I lead and support translational immunology research across Phase I/II clinical trials in chronic hepatitis B (HBV), working at the interface of discovery science and clinical development. My work focuses on immune profiling and mechanism-of-action studies to evaluate novel immunotherapies, with increasing responsibility for experimental design, data interpretation, and mentoring.I drive advanced immune profiling using spectral multicolor flow cytometry, single-cell RNA sequencing, and FluoroSpot, enabling deep characterization of HBV-specific T and B cell responses, antigen-presenting cells, and Fc-mediated immune mechanisms. I collaborate closely with clinical teams on patient sample workflows (blood and liver biopsies) and translate complex datasets into actionable insights that inform therapeutic strategy.I have contributed to and supported multiple industry-sponsored clinical programs with Janssen, GSK, Roche, Bluejay Therapeutics, and Vir Biotechnology, including Phase I/II studies evaluating monoclonal antibodies, SiRNA, ASO, and immune-modulating therapies. My work includes developing and implementing fit-for-purpose functional assays to study T cell–APC crosstalk, immune complex uptake, cross-presentation, and IL-2-driven immune activation, directly supporting go/no-go and biomarker decisions.Beyond hands-on experimentation, I mentor MSc and PhD trainees, contribute to cross-functional discussions, and help bridge scientific, clinical, and translational objectives, experience that aligns closely with biopharma roles in translational research, immunology, and early clinical development.
