About Logan Wealcatch
Aspiring junior at the University of Florida pursuing a degree in Business Administration, with a specialization and certificate in Sports Management, as well as a minor in Leadership. I am passionate about the business and analytics side of basketball, with a focus on team operations, player evaluation, and salary cap strategy. As a Video Assistant for the Florida Gators Women’s Basketball team, I use Hudl Sportscode and Synergy to scout opponents and break down film by labeling individual possessions. I also record and code practices and games, turning the data into detailed reports to help coaches identify key trends and enhance game planning and player development. On my own, I have gained exposure to front office operations through in-depth research on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), salary cap management, and player transaction strategy. I represented UF in the ASU NBA Trade Deadline Competition, where my team negotiated trades, managed cap sheets, and analyzed advanced metrics to simulate real-world front office decision-making. I am also a member of the University of Florida Sports Analytics Club, where I collaborate with peers to study basketball data, performance metrics, and roster construction models. My previous internship at Current Capital Real Estate provided me with a strong foundation in business management, financial strategy, and negotiation skills, which directly translate to both sports and corporate settings.I aim to attend law school to study sports and business law, with the ultimate goal of contributing to an NBA franchise.
