About Logan Voorhees

As a full-stack engineer with 4 years of experience in cloud and web development, I’ve had the opportunity to serve organizations in a variety of industries ranging in size from small startup to large government contractor. The bulk of my experience is with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like React, but I’ve also spent time with Golang, Python, CI/CD, DevOps, and Docker. I\'m well-versed in Agile and Scrum development methodologies, building back-end and front-end applications in small and large user bases, and I create automation whenever possible. In addition, I’ve presented demos and tech talks to cross-functional audiences, conducted technical and behavioral interviews, and I\'ve had the great privilege of serving as a team lead on 2 teams of 3-4 engineers. As a lead, I scheduled one-on-ones, worked with stakeholders to create and assign project tasking, reviewed code, and provided coaching and mentoring.I love people! I’m someone who invests in people to see them reach their full potential, and I look for opportunities to build people up, call them higher, and encourage them. I believe that transparency, honor, and diversity are crucial for any successful team, and I try my best to model that and invite others into it. As a leader, I look to see what is being developed in a person and how I can come alongside them. I believe in empowering people to make decisions for themselves and encouraging their unique expression. No matter what my experience has been, there’s always something to learn from the person in front of me. For me, leadership looks like love and influence, not fear and control. And I love to have fun! I’ve been known to schedule in-person events and meetups to get to know people better and to build unity on the team.Outside of work, I\'ve volunteered in several churches and ministries in the DMV area as a musician and worship leader, audio and video technician, and outreach team member. My love for people and desire for excellence comes from my love for Jesus Christ and my desire to see Him glorified on the earth. As a result, I bring a combination of integrity, skill, and fun everywhere I go! I don\'t just build solutions; I build people, and together we build solutions.
