ABOUT LOGAN LOCKNER

I\'m currently a second-year MA student in Aesthetics and Politics at CalArts. As a freelance writer and critic, I regularly write about contemporary art, film, and books for national and international publications such as Frieze, Art in America, Art Papers, Gayletter, and 032c. I also contributed to the artist monograph \'Toyin Ojih Odutola: The UmuEze Amara Clan and House of Obafemi\'(Rizzoli Electa, 2021). Previously, I was communications manager at Night Gallery in Los Angeles, a digital editor at Atlanta\'s NPR/PBS affiliate, and editor-in-chief of the Atlanta-based art magazine Burnaway. I hold a BA in English literature from Emory University, where I studied as a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar.[Cover photo is a detail from \'Untitled (split cane and rising flame),\' a 2021 painting by London-based artist Harminder Judge.]
