As a clinical pharmacist at ARH, I provide comprehensive clinical and operational support in both patient care areas and central pharmacy operations. In the CVU, I specialize in pharmacokinetic drug monitoring and dosage adjustments to optimize therapeutic outcomes. I collaborate closely with healthcare providers and nurses to deliver patient-centered care, offer medication counseling to patients and caregivers, and precept pharmacy residents and students. In the central pharmacy, I am responsible for verifying medication orders, managing drug distribution processes, fielding inquiries from providers and nurses, and ensuring critical clinical monitoring tasks are effectively handed off to clinical pharmacists. I also oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding and work to optimize pharmacy technician workflows for efficiency and accuracy. My role demands a high degree of flexibility and resilience as I address challenges such as staffing shortages, fluid supply constraints, and workflow changes. Through problem-solving and adaptability, I ensure seamless continuity of patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
