Lofton Alvarez is the Head of Corporate Development (M&A) at ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading provider of enterprise payments software tailored to banks, merchants and billers. In his current role, he is responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing global M&A opportunities within the Financial Technology (payments software) industry as part of the firm\'s inorganic growth strategy. Lofton has extensive, cross-border buy and sell-side deal experience, totaling more than $4 billion in value- Selected M&A experience: Acquisition of Speedpay, Western Union’s domestic bill pay business ($750mm), Acquisition of Munich-based PAY.ON, an online payment gateway enabling global, APM end-point connectivity for eCommerce ($205mm), Acquisition of London-based Retail Decisions (“ReD”), a CNP fraud management and monitoring platform ($200mm), Strategic, growth-equity investment in Mindgate, India’s leading provider of real-time payments software via the UPI scheme (value not disclosed), Carve-out divestiture of Community Financial Services (“CFS”), ACI’s suite of banking software tailored to credit unions and community banks to Fiserv ($200mm), Carve-out divestiture of ACI’s Digital Business Banking portfolio to One Equity Partners / Dragonfly Financial Technology ($100mm).Prior to joining ACI Worldwide, Lofton was based out of New York City and was an Associate (Finance Division) at Goldman Sachs in the energy and commodities trading group. Before Goldman, he was a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young LLP covering clients within the Banking and Capital Markets realm.Lofton is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MBA from the University of Florida, Hough Graduate School of Business. He graduated from Villanova University with a BSBA in Finance and a BS in Accounting.Lofton is an avid outdoorsman and advocate for wildlife conservation. When he’s not in the office, you can find him fly fishing in the mangroves and chasing wild game in the cyprus swamps and sunken, slough forests of South Florida. He is also actively involved as a volunteer in the Villanova School of Business (VSB) Mentor Program, providing career and professional development support to both undergraduate and graduate students.
