Through on-nation workshops and online instruction, I share marketing and sales knowledge that gives Indigenous entrepreneurs the guidance and know-how to start and grow companies that they can be passionate about. Participants learn how to identify a market need, communicate their company\'s value, establish a brand and reach out to their ideal customer through a multi-channel marketing approach. I\'ve taught over 650+ Indigenous entrepreneurs, worked with many prominent nations in B.C. and taught for the largest Indigenous-owned company in Alaska. I\'ve had 6 participants become winners at the B.C. Indigenous Business Awards since 2012 with another student being recognized in 2019\'s award ceremony for Young Entrepreneur of the Year.Empowering people to do what they love by building businesses that contribute to their local community is a very rewarding experience. I\'m looking forward to empowering more Indigenous entrepreneurs and communities to increase their economic growth.

ABOUT LOA FRIDFINNSON

With over 20 years in entrepreneurship, marketing, digital media, and sales, I support small and mid-sized businesses, students, and organizations in building something meaningful through my company, Activ8 Corporate Relations + Training. At Activ8, we take a person-centred approach because every business grows through the people behind it. Whether someone is just starting out or already established, we help them get clear on what matters, strengthen how they show up, and take focused action that leads to real growth.I began my career in finance as a registered investment advisor and Investor Relations consultant, where I learned how businesses are funded, built, and scaled. That foundation led me into marketing communications and launching Activ8 in the early then, I’ve worked with private and public companies, non-profits, and Indigenous organizations to strengthen brands, improve systems, and create more efficient ways of working. I’ve also supported clients in building more inclusive teams. One client, who has made meaningful hires from Indigenous communities, recently received their second Equity and Inclusion award, which I was proud to nominate. On the training side, I’ve worked with over 850 Indigenous learners and developed a 15-course business program focused on practical tools and real-world application. Many participants have gone on to win business awards and create impact in their communities.I also spent three years teaching at BCIT in small business, consumer behaviour, and marketing, including fully online courses.I currently serve on the board of The Children’s Foundation, supporting children and families across B.C.At the core of my work is a passion for helping socially conscious entrepreneurs grow their businesses and expand their impact, while supporting students in building the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue meaningful career paths. I also care deeply about helping people and families live healthy lives, with a strong interest in mental health.Outside of work, I live in Kitsilano with my husband and our two cats. I enjoy getting outdoors, walking, hiking, biking, and taking in the natural beauty of Vancouver and B.C.If you’re building something meaningful, I’d love to connect.
