About Larry Burns

I am a SoCal native. In the last year, my creative work appeared in Silver Birch Press, Poetry Superhighway, The Press Enterprise, Mount Voices, and Riverside Art Museum. My first book about Riverside\'s arts and cultural must-see\'s,\"100 Things to do in Riverside CA Before You Die\" arrived Spring 2017 with Reedy Press. My second Reedy Press book arrives in May 2018. It\'s about the fun, secret, wonderful, weird, and special people and places of the Inland Empire.\"Secret Inland Empire\" is available now at Barnes & Noble and Amazon for pre-order. Available around SoCal retail spots in May. My creative process takes elements of local geography and applies it to simple situations, providing plenty of room for the reader to create a particular meaning or emphasis. Writing is a community effort, with the writer\'s vision often a jumping off point for the conversation. When the elements come together, a fleeting expression of the human condition is achieved. Beyond writing, I support the writing community as a college professor and as a founding member of Inlandia Institute.
