About Liliana Martinez
I\'m invested in propelling students forward through higher education. As a first generation student, Mexican-American, and daughter of immigrants, the power that my college access organization had on me was transformational. I went from not knowing the depths of my potential to graduating from one of the nation\'s top women\'s colleges. I now work for the same organization, EMERGE, where I get to directly impact the lives of 50+ students each year across 6 different high schools in the largest school district in Texas. I am passionate about helping students discover what they are capable of and helping them apply and succeed at some of the nation\'s top/selective institutions. My main interest lies in uplifting underserved, low income, first gen, BIPOC students by exposing them to opportunities and supporting them through the often confusing and unattainable world that is college access. I am looking forward to continue to do this work and grow my leadership skills in the education realm.
