ABOUT LAURA MITCHELL
A native-born Michigander, I discovered my interest in historic preservation through working on rehabilitation and adaptive reuse projects in Detroit with Kraemer Design Group. This passion was further fueled as I learned to measure and record historic buildings through historic preservation classes at the University of Illinois. These experiences led me to focus on historic preservation and adaptive reuse both my studies in graduate school and as a subsequent career path.Since starting as an architectural designer at Kraemer Design Group I have worked on historic projects in downtown Detroit and small-town Michigan, building my expertise in measuring and documenting historic buildings, writing Historic Preservation Certification Applications, and designing adaptive reuse projects.
