ABOUT LAI-MING YUNG
I am a dedicated and highly motivated scientist with deep subject matter expertise in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), pulmonary fibrosis and cardio-metabolic diseases. Before joining Amgen, I was a People Leader in the Cardiovascular & Metabolism Therapeutic Area in Janssen/JNJ. I spearheaded the pulmonary hypertension in vivo strategy and provided biology leadership to drive multiple programs towards key deliverables. Prior to JNJ, I was a Junior Faculty in the Harvard Medical School. I led the mechanistic POC study of Sotatercept in PAH. With our collaborators at Acceleron, we demonstrated reverse remodeling as a novel MOA and supported re-positioning Sotatercept for Ph2 clinical development (Yung et al, STM 2020). Sotatercept was approved by FDA as the first-in-class activin-inhibiting intervention for PAH (March 2024).
