Appointed to the position of Head of European & International Affairs in May 2012.This position covers;1. UKSPF & Bham Business Growth2. European Projects & Programmes3. Policy & networks – managing the City Council\'s European & International engagement such as EUROCITIES & managing a dedicated Brussels Office.4. European & International partnerships – managing the City Council\'s formal partner & sister city relationships with cities such as Chicago, Guangzhou, Johannesburg, Lyon, Frankfurt, Milan & Leipzig5. Brexit - Managing Birmingham\'s Brexit Readiness Programme & implications of transition out of the EU.In 2013 Lloyd wrote a new European & International Strategy for Greater Birmingham. A new post-Brexit International Engagement Strategy is now under consideration.From the spring of 2013 Lloyd led on the development of a new EU Structural Investment Funds Strategy for Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP setting out the strategic priorities for spending €278 million for the period 20••••20. With strategic partners Lloyd promotes enhanced & devolved responsibilities for cities in the management and delivery of economic programmes & funding. This now includes managing the City Councils £27m UKSPF programme.Lloyd also manages Birmingham\'s Brussels Office. Representation that began back in 1985. This office manages partnerships and relationships with local & regional partners seeking to enhance the visibility & influence in Birmingham in post-Brexit EU funding, policy & legislation.The vision for this office is currently being refreshed & enhanced to manage implications of Brexit.In March 2018, Lloyd took on the role of Interim Head of Employment and Skills managing a team of 30+ staff.Since the EU referendum result 2016, Lloyd has led the City Council\'s response to Brexit & managed the City Council\'s comprehensive Brexit Readiness Programme. Over 38 years working in Local Government are supported by an MBA in Public Sector Management.
