ABOUT LLEWELLYN C.

Engineering leader with 15+ years building software for high-scale, regulated platforms. I currently lead a cross-functional team of 25 (architects, engineers, QAs and product owners) across 5 products, reporting directly to the CTO. I help teams do their best work, and help businesses turn that work into outcomes that compound. My recent chapter has been a deliberate progression from execution to platform transformation. I\'ve led my organisation through a shift from manual builds to pipeline-driven delivery, set the direction on a CI-integrated QA automation strategy, and championed a release governance redesign that closed long-standing ownership and quality gaps. I led the SDLC audit engagement that strengthened our compliance posture, and most recently I\'ve been guiding the team through the replacement of legacy, key-person-dependent workflows with API-first automation, removing single points of failure and giving the business back the time it was bleeding. None of that lands without the people side, which is where I lead from. I build high-performing teams by setting clear standards, removing friction, and trusting people with real ownership. I invest seriously in mentorship and leadership development, the people I work with should be more promotable a year from now than they are today. I treat empathy as a leadership tool, understanding what\'s actually going on for a person or a team is how you make the right call under pressure. I focus on managing up and across, translating engineering reality into language the CTO and wider exec team can act on, and communicating clear requirements that engineers can deliver. The result of my work is a productive, accountable culture where good engineering and good business outcomes are the same thing.Environments & practices: Azure, AWS, Azure Devops, Gitlab, Github, Typescript, C#. Agile delivery, SRE practices, regulated / compliance-driven SDLC.A bit about me: I\'m a Black South African with British citizenship, based in the West Midlands, dad to twin boys aged 5.\"Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don\'t.\"- Bill Nye. It\'s why my best decisions usually start with listening. Open to Senior Engineering Manager and Head of Engineering roles - remote or hybrid in the West Midlands / Birmingham area.
