ABOUT LUIS G. LEON-VEGA

I am an energetic highly skilled Electronics Engineer specialised in embedded software design and development, with a Ph.D in Computer Science, with emphasis in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. I currently work as an R&D technical leader at RidgeRun LLC, focused on developing optimised products for embedded platforms on NXP i.MX, Qualcomm RB5 and NVIDIA Jetson, making use of hardware accelerators and edge HPC principles.I have vast experience in FPGA-based hardware acceleration using High-Level Synthesis and GPU-based hardware acceleration. I am also a researcher at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, where my research are sustainable computing and computing architectures. I authored EfiMon, a library for monitoring energy consumption at the process level in supercomputing facilities, highlighting my skills in both FPGA and HPC Linux.I have been awarded the Second Award (worldwide) in Electrical Engineering at the Intel ISEF 2012 with a neural-controlled wheelchair using reused materials. I am a fan of RC toy vehicles and Age of Empires. I really love what I do and always look forward to contributing to the world with my knowledge.
