About Liliana Lara Hazel

As an Assistant Director at EAOP & K-20 at UC Davis, my role is enhanced by leveraging my academic background in Sociology and Political Science from UC Davis to champion community outreach for students in the greater Sacramento area. This is done via empowering and educational events for local high school students interested in pursuing higher education. With a tenure of three years in this position, I\'ve built on my prior experiences within the same organization, evolving from a Student Manager to a Community Engagement Coordinator before advancing into my current leadership role. This journey is underscored by my educational experience at UC Davis, where I honed my competencies in public service and community engagement, all while upholding a mission of equitable access to education for diverse communities.

   As the Assistant Director for UC Davis EAOP & K-20, I supervise two different teams of undergraduate student staff to support high school students in the greater Sacramento region. This is done through 16+ academic enrichment events per year surrounding topics of college and career readiness (EAOP), and overseeing the completion of a high school research fellowship for Yolo County English Language Learner (ELL) high school students with the intention being to provide accessible financial aid information to Yolo ELL youth (K-20). This title/role supports two University of California programs/initiatives.
