ABOUT LIZ PARKIN
I’ve always believed that stronger connections build stronger communities, and that’s exactly what drives me.In 2010 I launched RedShift Radio, an online community station that quickly became a hub for South Cheshire. What began as a radio project turned into something much bigger: a way to connect people, spark collaborations, and give thousands of adults and children the confidence to find their voice.(In fact, I’ve personally taught over 500 people how to present radio and improve the “3 Cs”: Confidence, Communication & Collaboration). One of my proudest achievements has been leading the relaunch of the Nantwich Show in 2022. After Covid, the Nantwich Agricultural Society lost in excess of overnight. With just left in the bank, and directors considering closure, I took on the challenge of bringing the show back in just five months. The result? A profit of in year one. Now, four years on, we’ve generated a cumulative surplus of over securing the charity’s future and putting the show firmly back on the map.I also founded Nantwich Buddies at the start of the pandemic — a community initiative that began with helping neighbours with shopping and has since grown into a sustainable organisation with 40+ volunteers, a paid coordinator, and regular Coffee & Company groups supporting around 60 households across CW5.Professionally, I’ve worn a few hats along the way- Marketing & Comms Manager at Reaseheath College, where I led a talented team of six through brand roll-outs and major campaigns- Event Manager & Community Connector, bringing together businesses, charities, and volunteers across Nantwich and beyond- Founder of initiatives like Nantwich Info and Nantwich Buddies, helping local businesses grow their reach and community members find support. What ties it all together? A love of marketing, community engagement, and storytelling, and the belief that when people come together, great things happen. If you’re a business or community group in Nantwich (or wider CW5) looking to raise your profile, tell your story, or grow your connections, I’d love to connect.
