Sistema Ravinia emphasizes social development and community building, as well as musical excellence, through intensive orchestral music education for 500 3rd–12th-grade students in 14 Chicago and Lake County public schools, following the El Sistema model of daily ensemble instruction. As part of Ravinia\'s Reach Teach Play programs, Sistema Ravinia supports equity in music education by opening doors for students from underrepresented backgrounds to access high-quality instruction, foster a sense of community belonging, and develop student agency through the arts.
