About Elizabeth Roberts
A producer turned product manager, my background is in audience development, product strategy and digital operations. As a PM at CNN, I launched a variety of digital products that were accessed by millions of global users. I led strategy, managed roadmaps, and updated products with CMS on flagship platforms (app, web and social media with 60M+ users) that acquired new audiences. I have a strong product marketing and copywriting background through creating scripts, initiating cross-promotions and executing decks. I excel at launching new products (podcasts, election tools, newsletters and service journalism tools) and thrive working with cross-functional teams to come up with creative solutions. Through working with CNN\'s Special Events team, I’ve also led audience strategy for televised events of 50-800+ attendees and traveled across the country to implement audience logistics for live specials, presidential debates, and town halls. I have strategized and implemented ticket registration plans from intimate town halls to DNC debates. I have curated guest experiences at all levels: managed VIP white-glove invites and seating, executed email communications, worked with Editorial on live questions, confirmed security plans, led event venue staff and worked the door - all while being part of \"the face\" of the event and providing exceptional customer support. As a strategy leader for CNN\'s news podcast slate, I increased listeners in key audience demos and executed successful launch campaigns for new products. I believe better products are possible when we put the audience first: proactively researching and obtaining user data, pairing analytics with growth strategies, and iterating to eliminate pain points. I have also launched new products for traditionally linear teams, such as the Keep Watching newsletter for CNN Films & Original Series, and owned iterative feature development. Before my six years at CNN, I worked in production for the Today Show, Vanity Fair and the NBC Page Program - with responsibilities ranging from working in a high-intensity control room to producing photoshoots with luminaries. From TV production to product, my career has evolved to connect with audiences and take listener insights that craft better tools. Looking forward to connecting!
