ABOUT LIZ SOUTAR

An enthusiastic and dynamic professional with a diverse skill set that spans across community relations, territory management, sales, non-profit fundraising, partnerships development, marketing, 12 years of event planning, and 20 years of leadership. I thrive in fast-paced environments, embracing challenges and transforming them into opportunities for growth and success. Often serving as the “unofficial” IT, system, and program support, I am also the team’s cheerleader and harmony facilitator. I lead with passion and commitment, believing in the power of leadership from all angles and not shying away from stepping up wherever needed. In 2005 I took on my first leadership role as an Assistant Manager, and since then, I’ve held several key leadership positions, including Acting Store Manager, Manager, Territory Manager, and Volunteer and Event Manager. This progression has helped me hone my ability to lead with empathy, drive, and vision. Currently, I’m leading the events, fundraising, and sponsorship initiatives for BC Transit. In addition, I am an active member of both the Social and Golf Committees. For the past two years, I have also co-led the People Experience Group, focusing specifically on the fundraising pillar. While I’m not officially a people leader in title, I lead in various capacities across the organization: on committees, with volunteer teams, and through mentorship. I am passionate about supporting, uplifting, and empowering others whenever possible. With a robust technical background, I am skilled in system operations and program management, including proficiency with Salesforce, WordPress, and the Microsoft 365 suite. I bring substantial experience in project management, social media strategy, training facilitation, and a deep understanding of Human Resources. My approach is to always find ways to innovate, streamline processes, and create positive, sustainable impact.
