ABOUT LIZ PRESTON
On 1st October 1978 I started as a sponsored student in business studies at ICI. I couldn\'t believe my luck to have landed such a great opportunity! At the time attending college was way outside of my world. I was overawed but soon adapted to this new life and made lifelong friends and memories. Now nearly days later I retire as CEO Agility Logistics Solutions (now DSV) to begin the next stage of my life. After 23 years at ICI, the Chemical world was changing and restructuring (still is) and a small group of people left and formed Agility Logistics Solutions headed by Phil Browitt. Our focus was to support our Chemical customers and ensure we provided the right skills and service to execute business globally. This was a fantastic journey starting small (23 staff) and quickly growing to over 300. We were then acquired in 2006 and I again became part of a large global organisation. I loved working in a global and demanding arena which led me to having two families - one at home and one at work. I have had the pleasure of working with so many great people - colleagues, customers, and suppliers over the years. I have met an incalculable number of fascinating, interesting and inspiring people from across the world. I would like to thank all our customers, some of whom I have known for over 30 years, always challenging me to provide the best service and value that was possible. Thank you for your business. As to my colleagues and team who have supported me a big thank you - there are too many to mention but you know who you are. You have made such a big contribution to my working life that I am humbled by your support and friendship. So, onto the next chapter of my life. I look forward to initially travelling, having more me time and then looking for new opportunities where I can make a contribution. We will see where life leads.
