ABOUT LIZ KUHN

My current work at the Colorado Circular Communities (C3) program focuses on working with internal and external stakeholders, supporting iterations in C3\'s strategic goals, and keeping up with innovative solutions in circularity. My history with C3 includes assisting local governments with policy planning and implementation, grant application assistance, managing team workflow, and project leadership. I have a strong focus on community-based social marketing and inclusive communications, and my hands-on experience in waste systems planning, community engagement, and successfully implementing sustainability initiatives, combined with my passion for iterative improvement and problem solving, allows me to ensure that C3\'s goals are being met with the full landscape of circularity in mind.I joined the C3 program in early 2023, and prior to that I received my Bachelor\'s degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado - Denver. During my time at CU Denver, I focused my studies on equitable food systems and sustainability. I spent time working in a Palynology lab to identify food sources for pollinators and on a local urban farm to build hands-on knowledge in sustainable urban food systems, which contributed to a certificate in Sustainable Urban Agriculture. I also wrote an undergraduate thesis on utilizing hydroponic growing systems to combat food insecurity in urban settings, which allowed me to graduate with summa cum laude honors. On a more personal note, I spend a lot of my time outside of work reading, volunteering, and advocating for social justice issues. I’m excited about collaborating on innovative solutions that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility.
