ABOUT LIV TAPPER

The design world is my natural habitat, the motivation that drives me daily is to create a better, more beautiful world through intentional design. People fascinate me, I’m driven to understand how they think and act to craft solutions that bring more clarity, empowerment, and meaning to their everyday lives. I\'ve been designing products for people for over 13 years. Currently I\'m a Principal Designer at Microsoft on an AI innovation team and previous to that created photo and video experiences for our millions of customers. Before that I led the design team at a Vancouver agency on digital transformation projects for our healthcare, eCommerce, and fintech clients. My favourite project was the award-winning Sneaker Con iOS app which disrupted the sneaker industry by adding NFC tags to shoes to revolutionize the authentication process.I’m especially compelled by solutions that are regenerative. In New Zealand, I was the Creative Director and Co-founder of an eco-beverage business that supported the preservation of endangered species, building it from the ground up into a multi-national, award-winning business. My strengths lie in my ability to zoom in to craft pixel-perfect design while intuitively understanding the mechanics of a project in order to execute on the strategy and support the team to work towards the ultimate vision.Supporting the growth of others sparks my fire and I’ve been privileged to be on panel discussions supporting people in career transitions, to co-facilitate a ladies\' lean-in circle, to be a mentor to students, and to teach Power Hours to the next-gen of UX designers.
