My focus is reducing health inequalities, through cross sector working. I aim to empower occupational therapists to feel confident in using physical activity within their practice. This involves working with universities to provide lectures and practice placement opportunities (including use of the online educational platform I co-produced with occupational therapy students), so we can share the amazing work our OTs and coaches are doing within the community. We are also working to develop a spiral curriculum to embed physical activity within pre-registration occupational therapy education. My role also involves development of a learning platform for occupational therapists, coaches and AHPs, to support their learning around physical activity, accessibility and inclusion, as we share the knowledge we’ve gained through empowering marginalised people, centering their experience.
