While I explore my next full-time opportunity in the nonprofit sector, I’ve been staying active by volunteering at the Detroit Zoo something close to my heart for over 26 years. What started as helping with special events has grown into a fulfilling role as a dedicated garden volunteer.I care for a garden near the carousel, where I spend time weeding, mulching, planting, watering, and tending to weekly upkeep. Gardening has always been a source of joy, and combining it with community service makes it especially meaningful. One of my favorite touches?
