Anyone remember Chevy Nova’s as a company car? I remember my dad coming home from work in his Chevy. At that time, I didn’t know anyone who had a company car…they all had station wagons, and no seat belts! We had a station wagon too, but I remember how fun it was to sit inside my Fathers car, and pretend I was driving it. I always wanted to go for a ride in his Nova, but we were not allowed to. Company rules! My dad was a Salesman for Xerox. I was always fascinated by his job and would say, “Someday I’m going to be a Salesperson, and have my own company car”. Well here I am. A grown adult, with my own company car (where did the Chevy Nova’s go!) and working in Pharmaceutical Sales. When I was young, I had no idea I would be in pharmaceutical sales, however It really fits with my personality. You see, I have always enjoyed working with people. I enjoy making people happy by enhancing their lives. As a Pharmaceutical Rep, it is important to me to enhance the doctor’s life. By this I mean bringing value to every call. I am an effective territory manager and I run my territory as my own business. By doing this, I learn as much as I can about the doctor, office and staff as I can. I become more of a “partner / advisor”. I find that my consultative style of selling works best for me. It is also important to me to be a disease state and product knowledge “expert”. At the end of the day, it makes me happy to know I am enhancing patients lives!
