WORK HISTORY
Part-time Professor @Schulich School Of Business - York University

I teach MSTM 5300 - Strategic Thinking in the Masters of Management program. It\'s an exciting course that covers the tools and frameworks useful in managerial decision making, spanning traditional business strategy and the application of design thinking. Students spend half the course learning and the second half applying the tools to a real-world challenge with a partner company. The course is built to develop analytical and quantitative skills, storytelling, presentation, teamwork, and the ability to work under time pressure.

ABOUT LISA MARIE CHEN
I\'m a lifelong learner, storyteller, and explorer who loves building products and the programs that bring customers into them. I lead product for IBM watsonx BI, where I\'m responsible for shaping direction, building our new business analytics agent, and running the high-touch preview and co-creation program that partners early users with the product team. I care a lot about setting clear intent, making strategic trade-offs, and partnering closely with design and engineering to deliver real customer value. As a former design director turned head of product, I balance creativity with rigor, and vision with execution. I enjoy mentoring and growing talent, but I\'m happily hands-on when it comes to strategy, prioritization, and driving outcomes. I also teach strategy part-time at Schulich, which sharpens my thinking and keeps me connected to how the next generation of leaders approaches today\'s biggest problems. Over the years, I\'ve had the privilege to work with kick-ass teams to shape award-winning product experiences, create content for global brands, serve as editor-in-chief for Toyota\'s Scion Lifestyle Magazine, and co-found Canada\'s first Asian luxury lifestyle publication: Blink. I also teach strategy part-time, which sharpens my thinking and keeps me connected to how the next generation of leaders approaches today\'s biggest problems. Always up for good conversations about AI, design, overlanding, or bubble tea—ideally all at once.
