ABOUT LISA HOLMES
I am an experienced communications professional, passionate about making a difference to business results. Fundamentally, effective communications means changing attitudes and behaviours to make an impact on business objectives. Measurement isn’t optional. Neither is making an emotional connection with your audience. I like to be hands-on in any role – I am a good copywriter, for example, and love writing and creating content. That doesn’t mean I can’t plan strategically: I can, but I also derive great satisfaction from getting things done. I thrive on change, and enjoy working in fast-paced environments.My more recent experience has been in internal and change communications, which I feel is a great fit with my skills. I worked for many years in marketing communications and I draw on both sets of expertise in pretty much everything I do. A great breadth of industry sector experience has helped me develop strong business acumen. I have an aptitude for taking complex or technical subjects and “translating” them into something that’s relevant for a particular audience. I am sold on the value of sticky ideas and memorable storytelling in effective communication. Also on the importance of listening and creating a space for a genuine conversation and peer to peer interaction.
