ABOUT LISA HAWVER
I am a multi-faceted scientist with over 10 years of post-graduate experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. My scientific journey has lead me from an interest in Forensic Science at the U.S. Secret Service where I identified and filed counterfeit currency into evidence, all the way to my Postdoctoral position where I studied the intricate communication system of Vibrio cholerae, the causative agent of the disease Cholera. I pride myself on my broad scientific focus and wide array of experience, which speaks to my desire to learn new fields and technologies and remain a part of a fast-paced and challenging work environment. I organized and ran the Tufts Patent Law Survey course in 2016, which sparked my interest in intellectual property law and inspired me to organize a second course for patent bar review. While I began my career at a law firm, I enjoy working in-house where I can connect directly with scientists doing the research. I love being closer to the ideas that evolve into patentable subject matter. In-house work has also led me to an interest in pursuing competitive intelligence, business development, and alliance management.
