ABOUT SAKURA ROSE

As a creative leader, visionary and designer, I’m passionate about helping our beautiful planet, whether that be though humanitarian, environmental, or animal welfare. My formal Industrial Design education led me to develop Snug Vest - a therapeutic product to ease anxiety. In 2011, I founded a bio-tech company, Wearable Therapeutics, which I led for 6 years as CEO. I gleaned extensive international acclaim for developing Snug Vest which improved the quality of life for thousands of people around the world suffering with developmental and mental health challenges. Through this experience, I learned to be a jack-of-most-trades ranging from online marketing, to sales, to capital raising, to grant writing, to finance, to too many to list! I’ve had the honour of being on CBC’s Dragon’s Den, Global, CTV, and CBC news. I’ve spoken on finance panels, at university lectures, and autism conventions. I was featured in Forbes Magazine, Financial Post, New York Times, and many more. I was awarded BC Business’ Top 30 under 30 and the Creative Achievement Award. I’m the inventor of 2 patents whose designs won a prestigious Red Dot Design Award along with several others. I was responsible for the growth and management of a 5-person FTE team (and a much larger team of contractors), for raising over $1M in start-up seed capital ($600K+ from Angel Funds & over $.5M in non-dilutive grants) and doubling investor ROI in 2 years. I oversaw all aspects of the B2C & B2B business. Prior to Wearable Therapeutics, I was a teacher for art, swimming and piano and was a brand ambassador and promotional representative for several household brands. I am very blessed to be living in Baja California Sur with my pup Pancho. As I figure out what projects lie ahead for me in the future, I am now endeavoring to support companies in any of the skillsets I have developed. I’d love to chat to you about your venture and see where I can help do some of the heavy lifting!
