About Lisa Galvin

I am deeply curious about the role social determinants of health and well-being play in our lives and in our communities, from access to nutritious foods, living wage employment, quality education, healthcare and affordable housing to the impacts of racism, gender-based violence, and climate change. I believe progress in each of these areas is connected to gains in the others. I am committed to addressing these upstream factors to narrow and ultimately eliminate disparities in community well-being. For the past 20+ years, I’ve partnered with community members and community-based organizations globally and domestically to improve the conditions that impact community well-being. I’ve learned that people with lived experiences of inequities are often best positioned to offer meaningful solutions to entrenched social challenges. So, I listen to them and amplify their voices in strategies, program designs, grant-making and impact measurement. Addressing the varied and complex social, cultural, economic and environmental conditions that shape community well-being will take all of us. Let’s do this together!
