GEHA is a $5 billion health care company offering diverse benefit plan portfolios to its two million members. Manage and execute internal and external communications programs and projects, including public relations, digital communications, HR and business unit communications counsel, and promotion of GEHA’s community investment strategy. Part of a newly developed corporate communication function, working to build a communication function from the ground up, including establishing processes, standards for execution and setting the bar for quality content that represents GEHA well to both internal and external audiences. Develop content for internal communications collateral, online copy, presentations, annual report, etc. Conduct research, evaluation and background development for external communications programs effectiveness with understanding of appropriate success metrics and reporting for PR effectiveness. Provide counsel on communications best practices, shaping events and programs to maximize employee engagement. Provide strategic counsel to executives and business partners, managing communication channels (web, intranet, social media) with a focus on the strategic impact of communications programs. Manage communications/media events and serve as company spokesperson with local and national media. Assist with implementation of crisis communications and issues management plans, including management of issue-based position statements as directed by executive management.
