Lisa Wang Lachowicz is an associate in the Litigation Department of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and a member of the International Dispute Resolution Group.Ms. Lachowicz’s practice focuses on international commercial and investor-state arbitration and public international law. She represents sovereign States, companies, and individuals in disputes ranging the energy (especially LNG and mining), construction, and healthcare industries. She has experience arbitrating under the ICC, UNCITRAL, and ICSID Rules. Ms. Lachowicz has also represented clients in arbitration- and international law-related litigations in the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. federal court, and New York and Delaware state courts. In 2024, she successfully argued an appeal in the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court, First Judicial Department, resulting in the dismissal of parent company claims seeking to collaterally attack a final arbitration award.Ms. Lachowicz is the co-author of “Standard of Proof in International Commercial Arbitration,” in F. Ferrari and F. Rosenfeld (eds.), Handbook of Evidence in International Commercial Arbitration: Key Issues and Concepts (2022) and co-author of “War Manifestos,” 85 U. Chi. L. Rev. She is a recipient of the 2019 Above & Beyond Pro Bono Achievement Award from Sanctuary for Families and the 2018 Safe Haven Award from Immigration Equality. She is a graduate of the ICC Advanced Arbitrator Academy for North America and served as Secretary to the Organizing Committee of New York Arbitration Week 2023.Ms. Lachowicz joined Debevoise in 2017.
