I am an accreditation surveyor for CARF, International headquartered in Tucson, AZ. A surveyor is similar to an auditor. As a surveyor, I travel throughout the country and engage in a consultative survey process with organizations seeking accreditation. Applicant organizations must demonstrate to CARF, substantial conformance to over a thousand administrative and programmatic standards. As an administrative surveyor, my particular area of expertise is in leadership, governance, strategic planning, legal requirements, financial planning and management, risk management, health and safety, human resources, technology and performance management and improvement. Surveyors are expected to have excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to effectively manage time, a consultative, not inspective approach to the survey process, computer skills, and a willingness to engage in both domestic and international travel.
