   Partners with key contacts from lines of business to understand event scope and requirements. Understands business objectives and needs and researches, analyzes and recommends event alternatives. Researches destination options, examines logistics and provides cost comparisons including airfare, transportation, venue and other costs.Plans events in line with established Company guidelines, processes and tools. Identifies and resolves logistical issues and concerns prior to and during events with minimal or no impact to attendees. Consults on, recommends and arranges transportation, restaurants, entertainment, team building and other activities as needed.Conducts site inspections for larger events as needed to assess destination and venue. Verifies needs will be met within specified budget range.Negotiates contracts with venues. Details needs for rooms, meeting space, catering and audio visual and other event requirements as part of contract processMonitors and discusses event changes and budget impact both in planning process and during event.Manages larger events on-site, serving as primary point of contact for logistics to ensure event runs smoothly and is successful. Communicates with key internal and external stakeholders, including vendors such as hotels, transportation companies, restaurants, destination management companies, external vendors for entertainment and team building activities and others.Communicates scope of services related to event planning to internal customers. May mentor, train and coach others to assist with executing less complicated day events or to support on-site if needed.Develops and strengthens skills and abilities to stay current with industry best practices for event planning and management.Provides post-event reports detailing costs and other information, including cost avoidance for various categories.
