ABOUT LISA MEI ZAMBITO
Lisa Zambito is an Illinois-licensed Customs and trade attorney dedicated to excellence in specializing in U.S. import and export matters. She has 17 years of experience assisting clients and providing guidance within a corporate and legal role on various customs and international trade regulatory issues, including: tariff classification, valuation, country of origin determinations, country of origin markings, Foreign Trade Zones, free trade agreement qualification, prior disclosures and Customs audits. Lisa works in the Trade Compliance department of Mars, Inc. Based out of Chicago, she leads a world-class North American team of trade compliance specialists and Customs brokers. She serves as Co-Chair to the Chicago Bar Association\'s International and Foreign Law Committee and has public speaking experience on import matters. Lisa has handled several valuation audits across global sites including in Asia and EMEA region and has significant experience in intercompany pricing challenges. In 2025 she and her team have partnered with the Mars segments to communicate risk, opportunity and implement duty mitigation strategies with retaliatory and other tariffs. Her prior trade compliance role with AbbVie saw her traveling to Singapore, China, and South Korea to support a Customs audit, perform a Customs gap assessment and implement a compliance program. From 2008 to 2012, Lisa advised clients on various import matters at the law firm of Hodes, Keating & Pilon (now part of Rock Trade Law LLC).
