About Lisa Hunter
Lisa L. Hunter is Founder and Managing Director of Newport Consulting Group, Inc. a boutique firm specializing in customized Total Rewards solutions for profit and non-profit organizations. Ms. Hunter is a seasoned consultant with extensive experience in the design and implementation of compensation and total rewards programs, organizational planning and development, and human resource management. She advises clients on a range of issues including total rewards strategy, executive compensation, linking compensation with business strategy, and performance management. In addition to her work as a consultant Ms. Hunter is a Senior Fellow and Program Director at The Conference Board. She leads the Executive Compensation and Compensation Councils and several Total Rewards-related conferences. She is also an adjunct faculty member and technical advisor at Cornell University\'s ILR School and Institute for Compensation Studies. Some of her classes include: Fundamentals of Total Rewards; Compensation Strategy for Collective Bargainers; and, Pricing the Contract. Ms. Hunter addresses groups on topics such as executive compensation, aligning total rewards programs with business strategy and the design and implementation of compensation programs. Prior to establishing the Newport Consulting Group, she held senior human resources positions at Time-Warner, Simon and Schuster and Home Box Office. Ms. Hunter is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. She also served as a Vice Chair of the Cornell University Council; the ILR Dean’s Advisory Council and as President of the Alumni Board of Directors of the ILR School. Ms. Hunter serves on the Board of Kids\' Club of Tarrytown & Sleepy Hollow. She has served on the Boards of New Beginnings, an organization assisting the homeless in their transition to permanent housing and My Sister’s Place, an organization assisting victims of domestic violence.
