As a careers adviser on the National Careers Service I work with a wide variety of people with diverse needs, as well as building and maintaining relationships with local organisations including colleges, universities, training providers and job centres. My duties include; • Advising adults on all areas of learning and work and to make informed choices that suit their circumstances • Assess peoples abilities, interests and achievements using a variety of careers guidance methods and tools • Find learning and work opportunities using local labor market information, careers information and resources. • Providing guidance on, Interview Techniques, CV writing, Personality Type Testing based on Myers Briggs • Delivering group sessions on a variety of careers advice topics • Developing and updating information hand-outs and presentations on relevant topics • Organising careers events and networking with local organisations
