ABOUT LISA FIRST
Born in the Buckeye State (insert the obligatory ‘O-H’ here), I graduated from The Ohio State University with a BSc Food Science & Nutrition and an MSc Chemical Engineering. From a young age I had a passion for food, creating new recipes and telling stories of far off lands. Stories turned to reality at 13 when I signed up for a semester of study in France, followed by a ‘gap semester’ backpacking across Australia. I’ve been with Diageo almost 21 years now and somehow managed to merge my passions and career. How you ask? I started in Process Development and Commercializing Innovation in North America. I was bitten by the Innovation bug and quickly joined our team in Latin America. Focused on Innovation and doing what I love - creating amazing new drinks. After a short stint in Australia with our supply team, I packed two suitcases and boarded a plane to London - my new home. I now head up our Innovation R&D team for Africa. During my 5ish years in this role, my team have created (or supported) a portfolio of successful Innovations across Spirits, RTD and Beer. My legacies will be great talent and great products.I aim to develop the creative and scientific leaders of tomorrow and brands that will outlive me!
