Ladco Company Limited was founded in 1919 by John Henry Borger. Today Ladco is a diversified corporation with interests in land development, commercial and residential real estate, property management (Lakewood Agencies) and hospitality (Birchwood Inn). Ladco is privately owned, conservatively financed, professionally managed, community-minded and employs over 180 Manitobans.Since the 1950’s Ladco has been a pioneer in the land development business having developed a number of master-planned communities.All of these projects involved the assembly of thousands of acres of raw land, the design and construction of hundreds of millions of dollars of municipal infrastructure and services, the negotiation and administration of long-term development agreements (in some cases spanning several decades) and the development of billions of dollars of real estate. To date, Ladco has developed over acres that are now home to more than families.Ladco has also been an innovative builder and developer of commercial and residential projects, including shopping centres, apartments, condominiums and single-family homes.Over the years, Ladco has developed, and Lakewood Agencies manages over 1,650 multi-family units. As well Ladco has developed a number of significant commercial projects and Lakewood Agencies manages three-quarters of a million s.f. of commercial space.Finally, Ladco owns and operates the Birchwood Inn, a 229 room, 4-star hotel in Winnipeg’s west end. The Birchwood Inn is a local hospitality institution and a recent addition to Best Western’s Prestige Collection.Ladco is led by an energetic and entrepreneurial team of professionals with a wealth of related industry, business and professional experience.
