ABOUT LISA DESJARDINS

I work at the intersection of IP education, strategy, and commercialization, helping Canadian innovators understand how to identify, protect, and leverage their intellectual property. My current focus is building national‑level IP education tools (web content, events, podcasts, and a community of practice) that address real knowledge gaps and support founders, researchers, and scaling companies.I’m highly autonomous and comfortable operating in ambiguity. I approach new challenges analytically and resourcefully, grounding decisions in facts and clear reasoning. I’m quick to experiment, quick to learn, and not afraid to roll up my sleeves when a situation calls for it. My goal is always the same: deliver results that matter, not activity for activity’s sake.Over the past two decades, I’ve worked across commercialization analysis, patent valuation, strategic reviews, and IP strategy in sectors including life sciences, hardware, AI, and MedTech. I’ve valued patents, IP portfolios, contributed to national public–private strategy work, and supported incubators and research organizations in strengthening their IP practices. My academic background spans commerce, technology strategy, valuation, and IP law.People who work with me tend to describe me as fast, reliable, and grounded. I’m collaborative and easy to work with, and I do my best work in environments where teams are aligned, accountable, and focused on meaningful outcomes. When the mission is clear and the work has real impact, I bring energy, focus, and follow‑through.
