Teach Introduction to Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting and Cost Accounting and have taught Accounting Information Systems to undergraduate classes averaging from 20 to 45 students. Selected Accomplishments: •Honored with 2018 Innovation in Business Education Award by MidAmerican Business Deans Association (MABDA) for “A Business Approach to Improving Outcomes in Introductory Accounting Courses.” •Noted by students as being an intelligent and enthusiastic instructor that makes accounting “language” and tools practical and useful. •Developed first online financial accounting course for campus in Fall 2014; in addition, successfully reformatted graduate Foundations in Accounting class from 8-week course to accelerated 4-week course, with comments from graduate students including, “best instructor I ever had!” •While balancing full teaching load from Fall 2012 - Summer 2013, served as Advisor of Graduate Business Programs, with responsibilities including admissions of incoming students, advising coursework for new and existing students, coordinating grad assistantships, coordinating information sessions and participating in other promotional activities/events, etc. Served as Interim Director of Graduate Business Programs in July 2013. •Faculty Sponsor for numerous internships each semester and served on search and screen committee in 2014 for Internship Coordinator. •Faculty Sponsor for Accounting Club for 9 years. Passionate about exposing accounting students to various internship opportunities and certifications, including making connections with AICPA, IMA, ACFE, AFWA, and IIA, and various local employers, including Humana, MCM, etc. Work closely with Career Development.
